"My mom always made a point to keep me busy as a kid. She used to say, “If you don’t have time for trouble, trouble won’t have time for you.”

It wasn’t just about staying busy—it was about TIME. Time is the most valuable thing we have in our lives. I try to show my kids every day that it’s not enough to just SPEND our time—we need to USE it. And if they use their time doing what they love, they can achieve anything they want in life.

This philosophy is the foundation of everything we do as a family and the driving force behind the Mario Lopez Family Foundation. Our mission is to give back by supporting youth-focused programs like Title One schools, the Boys and Girls Clubs of America (where I spent much of my childhood), and other initiatives close to our hearts. We aim to help kids have the same opportunities I had—the chance to chase their dreams and build a better future."

For me, having a charitable foundation focused on youth education and healthy lifestyles is personal. I know firsthand how much of a difference mentors and opportunities can make in a young person’s life. Education is the key to opening doors, and a healthy lifestyle lays the groundwork for success in every aspect of life.

Through the foundation, we want to provide kids with the tools they need to thrive—academically, physically, and emotionally. This is my way of honoring the lessons my mom taught me and ensuring the next generation has the support and opportunities they need to reach their full potential.
